 Description:Responsibilities 
  • London Based International Equity Trader: Responsible for trading all European and Emerging Market securities in local markets authorized by portfolio managers, during live market hours. Be capable and willing to switch between European and Asian market hours to support both desk structure and provide back-up. Requires strong knowledge of trading functions including: assessing market risks and impact, setting tactical execution strategy, and providing feedback to team to accomplish investment objectives.   
  • Be familiar with portfolio companies and fundamentals. Be prepared for earnings releases. Review external trading commentary and develop media sources for updating market conditions. Provide portfolio managers with ongoing information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume, price volatility, etc.   
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal portfolio managers and external securities dealers. Monitor the effectiveness and value-added of brokerage institutions on an on-going basis, focusing on execution, market impact and cost. Assist in the budgeting and allocation of commissions. Work within designated brokerage framework.   
  • Evaluate quality of current and evolving industry technology to identify tools to be used in the pursuit of best execution, and operational efficiencies in the trade allocation and settlement process, to minimize risk. Well versed in evolving landscape of electronic trading to include algos, dark pools, and crossing networks.   
  • Maintain strong understanding of all company policies and adopt best practices to insure compliance. Keep up-to-date on regulatory and industry issues and change in market structure as well as country specific rules and procedures.   
  • Participate in other projects as requested by management.
Qualifications 
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of international equity trading experience; experience should include both ordinaries and ADRs, and an understanding of currencies and other derivatives; Live hour, buy-side desk experience with broker-dealer familiarity preferable
  • Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; MBA or CFA a plus
  • FSA Registered Representative
  • Buy-side experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and management skills; ability to effectively lead or participate in team projects
  • Conversant not only with specific trading rules and regulations across countries, but with investment advisor and mutual fund regulatory issues
  • Significant knowledge and experience with trading technology systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of: equity securities and their markets, trading characteristics and approaches, factors influencing price trends, and equity security exchanges
  • Demonstrated initiative and work ethic, with a sense of ownership in organizational success
